Blowing Away combines searing rock guitar solos with blues inspired rhythms and keyboard originals. The metal guitar work contrasts with the keyboards to create an whole greater than the parts. This was the artist's debut album and harkens harsher roots that his mellower later albums, "Stand Back" and "Dream your Dream." Robert 'Colin' Johnson began his musical career as a teenaged rocker, then turned in his 20s to the blues, and in his 30s to jazz.
