I met Big Wes towards the end of 2001. We were instant friends and a couple of weeks later, the Piute Mountain Blues Boys were born. We write a lot of our songs simply to amuse ourselves and we love it when you find them amusing too. Roughly half of the songs that we write together, deal with subjects taken from real life situations("Hungry Richard Blues" & "Caliente Trail"). Other songs are biographical, but also reflect our unique point of view as well( "It Follows You Blues" - " Climb The Mountain" & "El Neenyo Sucks Blues"). Underpinning all our songs lies a balance of message("Keepin' The Blues Alive") & inherent good humor("Have A Happy Day Blues").What should be most apparent is our seat-of-your-pants-grassroots approach & minimalist philosophy: Any way you slice it, we're just 2 guys with guitars and other instruments, & 'what you see is what you get'.We love to laugh and we love to share our laughs through our music !
