Formed in 1991 the British Yankees blues band based in the Metro West area of Boston, have been extremely successful in performing in and around New England where the they have built up a reputation of being the tightest, musically competent and certainly one of the most entertaining blues band in New England.

While being true to their roots of the original artists like Freddy King, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy etc. they have developed their own powerful, and professional and magnetic delivery, with Vernon Northover (lead guitar vocals from London England) utilizing a guitar style reminiscent of some of the earlier 60's blues artists from England such as Peter Green, John Mayall, Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor etc.

The British Yankees who are celebrating their 10th anniversary) have just returned from an incredibly successful trip to the UK which has coincided with their new CD Legendary Knights which features the legendary blues icon James Montgomery on 5 tracks. Among other engagements they headlined at the The British annual yacht racing regatta on the south east coast of England on May 28th (2001 FELIXTOWE REGATTTA) The band put on such a high energy show they're return visit has already been signed, plus they are firming up more gigs around the London area in 2002.

The founder members Ric Provost and Vernon Northover are both locals of the Metro West area of Boston ...Northover lives in Medway and Provost lives in Marlboro

Vernon (The BIG 'V') Northover.... Guitar/Lead Vocals
Formed R&B band in North London, England, called "SYZE NINE", toured the southeast of England extensively, after several mentions on the radio, started appearing with major acts in England such as the Riot Squad....had a very large following so formed formal management in 1967. Was asked to join a top 10 British band called "THE HERD", played briefly with Black Cat Bones", and the position in the Herd was later filled by Peter Frampton. Shortly after Joined Shades of Midnight, a nationally known R&B band whose gigs included the David Frost Show. Played with a variety of blues and jazz bands as a relief musician with the British Musicians Union....founded T.L.C. and D'Beiss. Played with various blues musicians including Big Daddy, Lotsa Poppa, and Mr. Jellybelly. Formed the Killer V's Blues Band....co-founder of THE BRITISH YANKEES in 1991.

Ric (THE AMERICAN) Provost ....Bass/Vocals
Performed and recorded with Boston's Thundertrain....Toured the northeast performing as headliners in Cleveland's Agora Ballroom, New York City's C.B.G.B.'s, and Max's Kansas City....released the single "Hot For Teacher" in 1976 ....climbed to #2 in UK charts by 1977....received rave reviews in Variety, Creem, Rock Scene and Time Magazine .....Recorded sessions with James Montgomery.......Became the first American band to be signed by Jem Records of England....Released 3 more songs to become local hits on Boston radio by 1979, "Dirty Water", "Counter Attack", and "I Gotta Rock"...One of the featured acts to headline the "Live at the Rat" album, as well as WCOZ's "Best of Boston" album.... Formed Johnny Barnes' Back Bay Beat--released "Sudden Death Overdrive" to become WBCN's all time local radio favorite....selected by Johnny Winter to open his Boston and Providence shows. Ric Provost was entered into the International Book of Who's Who of Rock 'n Roll. ...co-founder of THE BRITISH YANKEES in 1991.

Rick Goode (The SENATOR) Guitar/slide guitar/vocals
Influenced by Peter Green, Allen Collins, Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana and largely based in Boston has played with a variety of bands including blues based Midnight Ramble and sixties influenced Last Measure ...played extensively in all major venues throuout New England

Started teaching at age 16, 3 years Berkley college of Music, recorded with composer producer David Porter, local singer songwriter, Agona Hardison local singer songwriter Lisa Meri, recorded and co- produced Big Blue Daddys CD "Money Don't Beat the Blues". As a session musician recording clients include, New England Patriots, CBS affiliate channel 4 in Boston, Also has worked with songwriter producer Bob Marlette (Black Sabbath, the Storm,) Main influences Buddy Rich, Steve Smith , John Bonham, the Motown singers and Government Mule were also a big influence. Toured east coast No Mans Land
