In early 1994, blues man Nick Greco set out to assemble his vision of a world class blues band. Formative years saw a number of personnel changes and fine tuning, culminating in 1998 with the current line-up of Fred Marcin (drums & keyboards), Bo Gravino (bass,vocals),and Paul Blandford (guitars). Each was well established in the music they loved-the blues. Since then, BluesOnFirst has tirelessly made their way to the forefront of a vibrant regional music scene-honest musicians playing honest music. FRED MARCIN-Columbia,MD Drums & Keyboards One of the most accomplished drummers anywhere,Fred's incredible sense of timing and dynamics have been wowing audiences and fellow musicians for over twenty years.He won Downbeat Magazine's Student Recording Award in 1980 and was runner-up in the 1989 Modern Drummer Magazine's national competition. Fred has played and toured with many national acts including Charlie Musselwhite,the Tempo Timers,Coco Montoya,and Smokey Wilson. PAUL BLANDFORD-South Wales,UK Guitars Paul offers up the heart and soul of a revered British blues sound,now with his feet planted firmly on American soil.Having spent all but his earliest years with guitar attached at the hip,it comes as no surprise that he has developed a strong musical signature and a large regional following.Paul's blues guitar hallmarks took him around England's popular blues circuit with The Havana Fireflies and the Deep Blues Band,culminating with a performance at the 1995 Glastonbury Blues & Rock Festival, the largest annual blues festival in Europe.
