Ben Rice is a 16 year old high school student whos been playing guitar since he was 6. His first band minor effect played most of the rock bars and clubs in Portland and seattle. Ben was 10 at that time. When Ben was 11 the band broke up. Ben then started playing the music he loves,the blues. He wrote his first song at 11 and still plays the song today. Bens backing band The Youth of Blues is made up of Daniel Rice age 15 sax and harmonica, Lea webber drums 15,Jessie Nagler bass 17 and Seth Williams 15 keys. Theses young musicians have been playing together for 4 years. The band was nominated for best new blues band in Portland in 2004. Best contempory blues band in 2005 and Ben getting nominations for best guitar and vocals in 2005. This cd shines with bari sax solos and harmonica solos from 15 year old Daniel Rice.
