Forget about palm trees, surfboards and coconut oil, Greasy Fingers paints an entirely different picture of the California Coast.

Songwriter Anthony Poplawski, former Hollywood Boulevard and Venice Beach busker, introduces the listener to a cast of gritty characters and questionable relationships on his lyrical motorcycle run from Tijuana to Oakland to Long Beach.

Renowned Brand X guitarist John Goodsall is the perfect foil to the folk/rock/blues progressions here, boldly attacking the strings in standard and open tunings, with fingers and bottleneck slide.

Percussionist Mark Rosebush, who has played with bands such as Permanent Groove and the Flagrant Vagrants, anchors the sound with his polyrhythmic beats.

Crash Justice, front man of the legendary Orange County rockabilly oufit, the Rockaholics, adds background vocals and hollers.

Recorded on a single ADAT in Long Beach, California on Valentine's Day, 2000, Greasy Fingers is odd yet entertaining, and will have the listener "rockin' and rollin' and wasted 'til the break of dawn."
